Off on the South Devon Railway. Toot Toot !!

Just can't recommend a trip on the South Devon Railway too highly.
Rob and I took the mid morning train down to Totnes last week and enjoyed every minute.
The staff are so friendly, the stations at Buckfastleigh where we caught the train, Staverton that we passed and Totnes are gloriously colourful with hanging baskets, freshly painted livery and masses for train enthusiasts to look at and enjoy.
I am planning to write all about the visit when I have a minute, and put it as a link on our family days out page.
We had a week off last week to take time to look at local things and what a smashing holiday it turned out to be.
At the end of the journey down the line, we spent so much time taking pictures, that we missed the River Rat boat into Totnes itself, and had to walk the 25 minutes along the riverbank into town. No matter, we had all day, and as you know, I do need the exercise.
For a day out off the Moor, Totnes is a great place to go and certainly there cannot be a more interesting way to reach it than on the GWR route, or the Primrose Line as it is known. Totnes if full of interesting shops, varied and wonderful places to eat out, music and colour everywhere. I need a few hours to upload more pictures.
Who needs to fly off to foreign places with all that Devon has to offer? No journey for hours to the airport, no air terminus queuing, no Delhi belly and beauty all around.
Great.
