The Ruth family visit Dartmoor for the first time !!

Great day out yesterday when the Ruth family came to see us.
They enjoyed their trip over the Moor to Scorhill Circle..
And a top cream tea at The Mill End Hotel.
As you can tell. I haven't got time to write it all up. But I will just say that we had a very smashing time. I'm just off out, so will fill in the details later (I hope)

  1. Hi Jill

Just found your blog & brilliant and informative website. Hubby & I are visiting Devon for a short break from 26th - 28th July. We're booked at the Ring O Bells at North Bovey, b'cus hubby likes an odd glass of 'real ale'. This is the first break we have had for 18 months & I'm so looking forward to exploring Devon. My love is anything 'vintage', do you know of any craft fairs, boot sales, antique sales, charity shops or crafty shops that I could indulge my hobby. We will definitely try the cream teas at The Mill End Hotel too. Thanks in anticipation. Frances. www.alittlebitvintage.net

  2. Hi Frances, so glad you like my website. do hope you enjoy your stay at the Ring Of Bells in North Bovey. I'm sure that Simon there will make you both feel very welcome. Sad to say that you have just missed the latest Antique fair in Chagford, which happens a couple of times a year, and you will arrive just 2 days late for the Auction that is held 4 times a year in Chagford. It is on this coming Saturday.24th. I think you should maybe google for the dates that you are here with Devon and vintage in the search line. Sadly the start of the week is not the busiest for flea markets and the like.
Please get back to me with some feedback about your holiday. It is so useful to see things from the visitor's viewpoint. Thanks for getting in touch. Jill
